Expertise

Surface modification/Engineering, Thin film technology, Self assembly, Application of spinning disc processing (SDP) in synthesis of nano-particles and nano-fabrication, Polymer engineering, Nanomechanical and Nanotribological responses of organic, inorganic and biological systems.

Contribution to the Centre

Synthesis of nano-structured metals, alloys and hybrids using SPD. Exploring the optical, electronic, magnetic responses of the nano-structures for applications.

Current Projects in the Centre

  • Synthesis of gold ,silver nano-particles and nano-hybrids by controlling the shape, size and surface and addressing nanotoxicology (with Prof. Colin Raston, Dr. Martin Saunders)
  • Synthesis of Silver/Titania hybrids for biomedical applications (with Prof. Colin Raston, Dr. Martin Saunders)
