Yee-Kwong Leong

Yee-Kwong LeongB.App Sci(1st Class Hons), Ph.D (Melb).

Expertise

Control of colloidal and nanoparticulate processing via surface forces and chemistry, Relationship between surface forces and molecular structure of adsorbed additves in dispersions. Rheometry and slip flow, Rheology of complex fluids, Low noise derivatives in spectroscopy chemical kinetics, thermodynamics.

Contribution to the Centre

The generic knowledge gained from understanding the relationships between the structure of adsorbed additives and surface forces may be exploited to control nanoparticulate dispersion behaviour and to produce nanoparticles with the desired size, shape and morphology.

Current Projects in the Centre

  • Particle bridging attributes of small charged molecules – molecular structure and functional groups
